ADVANCED LEARNING

SEALP @ MFG

Matthew Flinders Girls is a member of The Academy of Accredited SEAL Schools and offers the accredited Select Entry Advanced Learning Program in Years 7-8.

Our program harnesses Positive Psychology, embracing elements of altruism, risk-taking, gratitude and resilience. Academically, students will learn to use visual thinking routines, undertake tasks that ‘dig deeper’ into concepts and foster a ‘yet’ attitude; “I haven’t mastered something yet, but I will with continued persistence, effort and hard-work.” The program also empowers students to develop their personal and social character through goal-setting and other community service activities.

To gain entry into our SEAL program a student must show they are curious, keen to learn and willing to support their peers to learn too, alongside being involved in co-curricular activities outside of school. In addition, they will need to complete an examination and undertake an interview.
